  1. If you obtain a permanent residence permit in Denmark you are exempt from paying a tuition fee.
  2. If you have a temporary residence permit with the option for a lasting residence permit in Denmark you are exempt from paying a tuition fee.
  3. If you participate in an exchange programme as Fulbright or DIS (Denmark’s International Study programme or a specific bilateral agreement between two institutions you are exempt from paying a tuition fee.
  4. If for any reason you are granted parity to Danish citizens you are exempt from paying a tuition fee.

The Royal Danish Academy of Music will consider all applicants individually.

Scholarship

All non EU/EEA applicants can apply for a scholarship to cover part of their living/travel costs during their stay in Denmark.

The scholarships will be awarded according to the guidelines set out by the academy i.e. to the most talented applicants or some scholarships will be prioritized according to a defined list of instruments which normally includes double basses, violas, oboes, bassoon and horns.

DKDM offers different kinds of scholarships for students who are required to pay the tuition fee. The amount varies with a maximum corresponding of approx. 20-25% of the study fee per year. The academy cannot guarantee scholarships to all applicants.

There will be awarded a limited number of introductory scholarships for new students according to the total number of applicants. Master students and enrolled students will be prioritized.

Information about eventual awarded scholarship will be enclosed the admission letter.

Please use the special application form when applying for scholarships. The form should be submitted along with the general application form within the deadlines. The application for scholarship must include

  • CV
  • Recommendation letters
  • Letter of motivation

All non EU/EEA students must be prepared to pay the total amount of the tuition fee per year according to the procedures informed by admittance to the Academy. Eventually awarded scholarships are only distributed after the required tuition fee has been paid from the student. Scholarships must be considered as a support for living costs and not a support for the tuition fee payment.

Together with your acceptance letter you will receive an invoice with the exact information about the payment procedure. The payment deadlines must be expected to be June 15 and September 15. The eventually scholarships will expectedly be paid during October.
