Per Bundgaard (b. 1973) completed his education in aural training at RDAM in 2003, after studying under Erik Højsgaard, Inge Marstal and Bodil Westergaard. He also took a music teaching diploma in piano after studies under Nicklas Sivelöv.

Prior to that, he also studied for three years in the General Music Teaching programme (AM), with principal study in choral conducting, ensemble conducting and elementary music teaching, specialising in piano. Here he was taught by Inge Marstal, Frans Rasmussen, Michael Bojesen and Hanne Mulvad.

Subsequently, he took a choral conducting course with Peter Hanke and Voces Academy (2014).

Teaching

Per has been teaching aural training at RDAM since 2005, from 2007 as assistant professor. He is also the department head for Music Teaching (AM) and Aural Training.

Since 2008, he has held further training courses in aural training pedagogy in the RDAM framework, including for music school teachers.

Artistic practice

In addition to teaching, Per is active in several different musical contexts.

He has been employed as choral conductor and children’s choirmaster in Denmark and abroad, including in South America. In Bolivia, he has conducted both children’s and youth choirs, and has also worked as director and off-stage conductor in the Bolivian National Symphony Orchestra’s production of the opera Turandot at the Teatro Municipal in La Paz.

In Denmark, Per was conductor of the choir “Tritonus” at various Christmas concerts in December 2016, and for a number of years he was the regular conductor of the choir “Korona”. He has also been a pianist on several occasions, including in the recording of music for a graduation film from the National Film School of Denmark in Holmen, and in the recording of an album for “Doctors Without Borders”.

In 1993, Per was the composer and organiser of the children’s musical Vingefang (Wing Span) which was performed in Denmark, Estonia and Latvia, and he has also been coordinator of the Music Day “Music and People” in 2002 and the Music Day “Music without Borders” in 2003.
