Nenia Zenana
Nenia Zenana graduated from RDAM in 1996 in aural training, conducting and piano.
Teaching
Nenia is employed at RDAM as a part-time teacher of applied piano, and has previously taught aural training at the same institution. Since 1996 she has been a teacher in the Department of Musicology. She has also taught at music schools and DAMU (the Danish Amateur Music Union), and has had private students in piano, aural training and conducting.
Nenia is also a qualified Body SDS therapist, and has been working as a body therapist since 2010.
Artistic practice
Nenia is conductor of the Music Students’ Choir, MUKO, and of the Academic Orchestra and Choir, with whom she has performed and recorded several major classical works. She has also conducted the Danish National Girls’ Choir, DUSIKA, Elverhøjkoret, Mastodonterne and the Danish Chamber Orchestra, amongst others. She has been a vocal coach in various musicals/musical theatre shows, and has played many concerts with Neniaband and her own duo.
Over the years, Nenia has given several lectures, including on music, leadership, spiritual and energy work in music, as well as on miracles, angels and semitones.
International activities
In 2008 Nenia conducted a project in a festival in Kunming, in Yunan Province, China. The choir was local and the soloist Danish.
Moderator in Musicology, University of Copenhagen and RDAM.
Nenia has published several compendiums for use in teaching aural training/applied piano in the subject of Musicology at the University of Copenhagen.
She has also published various programme items for concerts with the Academic Orchestra and Choir since 2000.
