Ethical values
The ethical set of values is a set of values and standards, which aims to create a shared culture at RDAM as an international institution of artistic education. The ethical set of values should make and support a communal spirit and identity that we can be proud of.
The ethical value set applies to everyone associated with the Academy, including students, teachers, guest teachers, technical and administrative employees, management, cooperation partners, and any other affiliated personnel.
Ethical values
The Royal Danish Academy of Music (RDAM) educates musicians and prepares them to be active and professional musicians in Denmark and internationally. We exist in a global reality where diversity and curiosity are strengths. Our culture sustains an open dialogue characterised by mutual trust and confidence.
Classical music is an art form with a rich tradition, but it is at the same time dynamic and ever-changing. Classical music is a collective art form, where all parties are interdependent, but where sublime musical experiences are also fueled by the expression of unique artistic talent.
At RDAM, everyone is jointly responsible for creating a community that supports and upholds the development of individual artistic potential. The Academy is a space where we are attentive to each other, where well-being is valued, and where the individual is supported in making their artistic possibilities a reality.
We support the individual’s right, within the boundaries of the musical collective, to realise the full potential of their individual talent regardless of level and skill, personal relations, cultural backgrounds, and artistic preferences and approach.
A culture of inclusion and affirmation defines the Royal Danish Academy of Music. It does not tolerate discrimination, bullying, abuse of power, or harassment against an individual or a specific group.
