Global Outreach Center
Since 2011, The Royal Danish Academy of Music has developed and implemented activities in the field of Distance Learning through network technology. Over the years, this has led to a significant number of synchronous teaching and and performance activities, such as masterclasses, lectures, and online concert performances.
With a main focus on live interaction, Distance Learning at RDAM refers to a diverse range of activities such as virtual learning, telepresence, remote teaching, real-time online instruction, video conferencing, online studio instruction, and synchronous one-to-one teaching.
The academy has continuously been involved in research and development projects in this field, constantly striving for the highest quality in delivery and interaction. This requires awareness of the technical, didactic, and cultural aspects – an important triad of concepts that must be considered in order to improve and enhance teaching and learning spaces for music students and teachers interacting across continents.
Activities and development projects related to Distance Learning at RDAM are managed by director of international affairs, Marianne Løkke Jakobsen and associate professor and head of the tonmeister programme, Jesper Andersen. Feel free to contact them for questions and ideas.
Here is a selection of project outcomes which we are happy and proud to share. Digital materials, including videos and documents, are available to those who are new to the area of Distance Learning.
