Ph.d-forsvar: Astrid Vang-Pedersen

Astrid Vang-Pedersen will defend her PhD thesis with the title:

Concert Design: An investigation into the potential of Classical Concerts as creatively designed events

The thesis develops the notion of Concert Design as a creative approach to designing embodied, aesthetic and communicative concert performances. Concert Design is a concept including six principles of Concert Design that may provide inspiration, shared terminologies and methods applicable in the Concert Design Process.

The PhD committee evaluating the dissertation are:
Professor Jan Pries-Heje, Roskilde University (chair)
Research professor Dorita M. Hannah, University of Tasmania & Aalto University
Associate Professor Morten Søndergaard, Aalborg University.

The defense will include a small original concert performance as an illustration of some of the practical implications of the research project.
