Diversity and inclusion

RDAM, in collaboration with the other artistic education institutions under the Ministry of Culture, has developed a Diversity Charter, which came into effect in 2023.

In the Diversity Charter, we commit to working towards increased diversity in the artistic field. Specifically, this has resulted in the following initiatives and projects for 2023-2024:

Diversity Council

RDAM has established a Diversity Council, which works to improve diversity and inclusion at the Academy with the ambition that all students and staff feel part of an inclusive study and work environment.

Language Policy

In 2024, we updated our language policy to ensure the Academy takes responsibility for providing students with the best possible conditions to receive and complete their education at an institution with a diverse student body.

Study Start

We place great emphasis on offering our students an inclusive start to their studies. We work on this by fostering connections across nationalities, genders, and subject groups through activities that ensure space for everyone. We inform students about RDAM's stance on diversity to create an inclusive foundation, which sets the framework for what it means to be a student at RDAM.

Week 38

In week 38, we held a theme week for the students, with music as the central focus but revolving around various themes. In 2024, the theme was “Togetherness and Folk Music,” with a focus on supporting students' inclusion, well-being, and sense of community across disciplines and year groups.

RDAM CHOIR

In 2024, we launched the RDAM CHOIR, focusing on both musical and social gatherings across the institution. The choir is open to both students and staff, regardless of musical background or experience.
