Artistic Practice

David Hildebrandt is a Danish percussionist and performer with a primary focus on contemporary and experimental music. He has had a significant impact on repertoire development in this area
through his numerous commissions. He works broadly across genres and effortlessly moves between various musical styles. Through collaborations with internationally recognized artists in
both classical and rhythmic music, he has contributed to developing new stylistic expressions by fusing different traditions and genres. He harbors a deep respect for understanding musical styles
and genres while working to break down barriers and challenge conventions, aiming to create new and relevant forms of expression that can bring classical music into a modern context.

His interest in sound and rhythm has led to the development of a holistic method for understanding polyrhythm. This method not only sheds new light on polyrhythm as a phenomenon but also fosters motor development, which gives it significant educational relevance. As a result of his research, the book 'Polyrhythms – The Hildebrandt Method' has been published. This book revolutionizes the approach to polyrhythms by bridging complex musical theory with practical application.
