Katrine Immerkjær Kristiansen

Katrine I. Kristiansen began her musical career at Faaborg Music School. She quickly became acquainted with the church organ and at the young age of 14, she started temping in the churches of southern Funen. In 2011, Katrine completed her master's degree with Professor Wolfgang Zerer in Hamburg with top marks. Subsequently, she was admitted to the soloist class from where she made her debut in November 2013 with Sven-Ingvart Mikkelsen and Margaret Phillips, London. She has received instruction from the leading organists throughout the world.

In 2011, Katrine took the initiative to start the Organ Club. The Organ Club has now got more than 30 teachers started on teaching and more than 300 children nationwide are now playing the organ. Katrine is often used as a visiting lecturer and guest speaker lecturer in the Nordic countries, where interest in teaching children and young people about the organ is also increasing.

The work with children / young people and the organ has now been included in the Finance Act and the Organ Club is heavily supported by the Augustinus Foundation's anniversary fund and the Frobenius Foundation.

Katrine completed her pedagogical master's in church organ at DKDM in January 2016 with top marks and – to coincide with this – published Denmark's first organ book for children and young people. The book contains hymns as well as rhythmic and classical Works.

In 2019, Katrine together with kirke.dk published a collection of newly written works for use in family worship services: 20 works for children / young people / beginners who play the organ and 20 works for professional organists.

Katrine is first organist organist at Brøndby Strand Church and a part-time teacher at SDMK, Esbjerg, DKDM and Sjællands Kirkemusikskole.
