Come and expirence a special display from Morten Svenstrup's new sound work specially arranged for The Academy's Ambisonics-sound system in collaboration with tonemeister Peter Barnow.

This sound work that stimulates all the senses works across the documentary-film-, composition-music- and sound design genres and will be played in an almost completely dark room.

The subject is scarely topical:
The debate on the war in Afghanistan and the political play is getting enormous media attention, but what do the actual war experts and veterans from our country have to say on the way this international conflict is being handled in Denmark? And what have the many years of introspection led to in terms of reflection and knowledge - about the connection between PTSD, truths and humanity, war and conflict?

The work is an ambitious story about how a soldier relates to themself when the war stories are getting more and more complex, the understanding of the world is being turned upside down, and the meaninglessness hits like a hammer.

Morten Svenstrup, director, says:
"When I decided to direct this work three years ago there was not many people discussing our being in Afghanistan. Because of very sad reasons this has changed over the last couple of months. We, as a nation, have started a self-examination. How do we handle international conflicts? And what can we derive from our 20 years in Afghanistan? This is why our film all of a sudden has become topical. With WAR we try to draw a nuanced and in depth portrait of the war - heard from deeply personal stories and reflections from two veterans.
Look forward to a film that stimulates the senses and grips the deepest layers of the emotional spectrum."
