BEYOND SCORE

At this concert, you meet the multi-artist and pianist Carsten Dahl. Dahl is one of Denmark's foremost musical talents, with a wealth of Danish and international accolades behind him, as well as a discography that counts over 250 solo releases. Together with cellist and Associate Professor at RDAM, Toke Møldrup, in the duo MOMENTO, he stands for the free creation of music that arises in the magic of the moment. This requires from both of them an effortless and free vocabulary and knowledge of the nature of music itself.

In this BEYOND SCORE context, MOMENTO make themselves available as composing musicians and playing composers. Skills that were natural in the past, when the divide between them was not a reality. Dahl and Møldrup now occupy the empty space where they create the images on the canvas that are not yet painted and the music that is not yet audible. 

As part of RDAM's BEYOND series, an elective course for students on the possibilities of improvisation will run throughout the autumn. The students will therefore participate in the concerts to varying degrees depending on how they feel at the time!
