BEYOND SOUND

At the BEYOND concert series, DKDM focuses on improvisation as an art form, with students performing alongside teachers and guest soloists. Improvisation has always played an important role in music, including in the classical tradition, where written works have been the mainstay of artistic practice. The BEYOND concerts explore the music of the moment, which emerges before the eyes and ears of the audience in a radically unpredictable act of creation. Music that lies beyond notes, genres and styles, beyond the known.
