EPARM opening concert
RDAM is host for the EPARM (European Platform for Artistic Research in Music) conference, which starts with a concert by RDAM-students. Students from selected European music academies perform digitally through LOLA - a technology specifically designed to make a digital musical co-creation across geographical distances possible.
Program
John Willams: Olympic fanfare
RDAM Brass Ensemble conducted by Jesper Juul Windahl
Gustav Bjerre: Mondoka
RDAM Sinfonietta conducted by Max Artved
Rued Langgaard: String Quartet no. 2
Absalon Quartet
Biscoe/Andersen: Shadow Flux – networked performance
György Ligeti: Six bagatelles for woodwind quintet
Paquito D'Rivera: Aires Tropicales
This co-production between Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts (FHK) and The Royal Danish Academy of Music, features 17 performers connected in real time.
Two woodwind quintets and seven dancers interact when the concert hall in Copenhagen is connected to Tilburg in The Netherlands.
The physical distance of 800 km is broken down using sophisticated network technology and audio/video/light-design, so the two performance halls are entangled and become one shared space.
