Immersive Sessions 3
New productions are being recorded immersively and more venues are embracing the idea. We're inviting an expert to give an introduction, who will point out artistic possibilities and technical challenges with examples from their own work.
Thingpower
Two of Denmark's most prolific sound creators - musician and composer Troels Abrahamsen and sound designer Peter Albrechtsen - have collaborated on material under the name Thingpower. The work has now resulted in an album that will be released on 15 November 2024.
Troels Abrahamsen is known as the singer and producer in the experimental rock band VETO and for his solo piano work under the name Exec. In addition, in his almost 20-year career, he has released and performed both in his own name and under various pseudonyms. He recently released the EP Polyptych20/Circumvention on his own label BLCK. This was followed by a series of singles, most recently the atmospheric long player Kill The Buddha. The newer material merges the different genres and approaches he has explored over the past two decades as a performer and artist.
Peter Albrechtsen is one of Denmark's most renowned sound designers, working on both Danish and international films. Most recently, he created the soundtrack for the global horror hit Evil Dead Rise and one of the most acclaimed Danish feature films of the year, Full of Love. His Danish productions include films such as You Who Are in Heaven, Underworld and The Cave, and he has been nominated for the Robert Award for Best Sound Design 11 times and won both Robert and Bodil for The Idealist in 2017, where he also became a member of the Oscar Academy. Known for his highly musical approach to sound design, Peter has worked closely with a number of international music names such as Jóhann Jóhannsson, Brian Eno, Matthew Herbert, The Killers and Efterklang, and has written and lectured on film sound and music around the world and in a number of Danish and international media.
