On the wings of song

This evening's concert lecture takes Franz Schubert's famous 'Winterreise' as its theme.

Singers William Tarrach and Jarosław Kałas and pianists Dina Elena Draugsvoll and Merel Beelen will perform selected numbers from Schubert's cycle.

Along the way, you can hear Søren Schauser talk about the many meanings of music and look forward to a few surprises with Emil Gryesten at the piano.

The arrangement revolves around the singer's relationship with the words and the role of the accompaniment: the pianist will always support the singer as much as possible. But the singer will also be inspired by the piano's expression. So where and how does the two people's shared expression actually arise?
