Compendium in Textural Analysis
A textural analysis seeks to identify individual elements of a texture and describe their interrelationship. Many models have been developed to conduct this analyse for the classical repertoire, but as you go further into the 20th century and beyond to the present day, it becomes more limited. Accordingly, part of the purpose of this compendium is to expand this part.
The intention is to produce a kind of toolbox that can be used as a utensil in textural analysis, but also as a reference work in the creation of instrumentation tasks. This is very much a compendium, in the sense of material presented in brief form.
The emphasis is on examples (usually score examples) with a short descriptive text. It is hoped that this form will allow a greater amount of information and ideas to be included. A further hope is that this form will boost the practical usefulness of the compendium, as you will quickly be able to find the information you are looking for.
