Musician in other ways
How does working as an entrepreneur influence and develop my personal musicianship?
The KUV project "Musician in other ways" describes and reflects on my process as artistic director of Fynposium - a ”Folkemøde” for classical music at Boltinggaard Estate on Funen, Denmark. From seed of thought to hopefully burgeoning event, I will investigate whether and how insights into a main artistic coordinating role will affect my concurrent musicianship.
I imagine that working with such a large format will refine my creative thought process so that I will be better at working with visions/directions/themes/programs. I imagine that I will get better at developing my own ideas, facing criticism of these and seeing the potential in other people's ideas. On the immediate downside, I will have less time to nurture my own instrumental practice. What does this mean for me? Will it lead to frustration at lost practice time or joy at being able to use my artistic work to nurture and influence something different and bigger than one's own practice, or perhaps both in the form of a new insight I don't know yet? Perhaps Fynposium and the KUV project about Fynposium will take me to places that I currently do not yet have the remotest concept of - it could be forms of crisis management, difficult dilemmas, going the extra mile that I had no idea existed.
