Baggrund

Jesper Andersen er uddannet tonemester ved DKDM og har som Grammy-nomineret producer, tekniker og pianist indspillet omkring 100 cd'er og produceret musik til radio, tv, teater, installation og performance. Jesper har arbejdet som musiktekniker/producer på Danmarks Radio.

Undervisning

Jesper er fagkoordinator og hovedfagsunderviser på tonemesteruddannelsen. Tidligere har han undervist i musikproduktion og lydteknik på Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium og på DTU.

Ud over undervisningen arbejder Jesper intensivt med udviklingen af instrumental fjernundervisning (distance learning) på DKDM.

Kunstnerisk praksis

Jesper producerer inden for en bred vifte af genrer, både klassisk og rytmisk musik. Han har arbejdet med bl.a. DR Underholdningsorkestret, Athelas Sinfonietta, Holland House, Aarhus Symfoniorkestrer, Odense Symfoniorkester, Norrköping Symfoniorkester, Figura, Modern Tango Quintet, Inviolata, Bjarke Mogensen, Kammerensemble Neue Musik Berlin, Under Byen, Efterklang, Choir of Young Believers, Wynona, Homesick Hank, Czeslaw Spiewa, Bonnie "Prince" Billy og Mary Gauthier.

Udviklingsvirksomhed

Jesper har været involveret i en lang række udviklingsprojekter inden for Distance Learning og e-learning, bl.a.:

  • Intermusic, EU-projekt i samarbejde med konservatorierne i Vilnius og Milano
  • Dig. Music, NordPlus-projekt i samarbejde med Helsinki, Tallin, Tampera og Vilnius
  • Development of Virtual Audition i samarbejde med Oulu og Vilnius
  • Fem store samarbejdsprojekter mellem DKDM og RMC om rytmiske symfoniorkesterkoncerter
  • MUSAiC  er et online mødested for klassiske musikere, med et løbende opdateret videobibliotek, som er kurateret af America's Orchestral Academy. Ligesom lærere videregiver viden til deres elever, giver MUSAiC adgang til klassisk musikinstruktion og samtaler mellem både studerende og professionelle musikere. Projektet er udviklet i samarbejde mellem the New World Symphony, Cleveland Institute of Music, Curtis Institute of Music, Eastman School of Music (University of Rochester), Guildhall School of Music and Drama (London), Manhattan School of Music, Det Kongelige Danske Musikkonservatorium, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, University of Missouri-Kansas City og University of Southern California

Forskning

Fra 2020 til 2025 arbejder Jesper på ph.d.-projektet Music & Technology, som er et samarbejde mellem DKDM og Aalborg Universitet.

Jesper har desuden deltaget I en række forskningsprojekter, bl.a. ”Distance Learning in Higher Music Education” samt ”Towards a More Creative Music Mixing Interface”

Jesper Andersen har givet gæsteforelæsninger/masterclasses på Aalborg Universitet og en lang række internationale konservatorier:  Royal College of Music i London, Chopin Akademiet Warszava, Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Tianjin Conservatory of Music, Miami University, Cleveland Institute of Music, Northwestern University, Yale University, Conservatorio Musica Verdi Milano, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre og Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf.
