RDAM recording "A Pacifying Weapon" Gold Medal Winner 2017
The RDAM recording of Sean Hickey’s recorder concerto "A Pacifying Weapon" has been awarded a Global Music Award. The concerto was premiered by RDAM students and recorder soloist Michala Petri conducted by Jean Thorel in September 2016 and recorded in the RDAM Concert Hall and has been released on OUR Recordings.
The performance of the orchestral contribution by the students of the Royal Danish Academy of Music is impeccable and exudes a focus professional orchestras might do well to emulate (Fanfare Reviews, Colin Clarke 28 May 2017).
