RDAM String Quartet praised in leading Music Magazines

Nightingale String Quartet gets top marks in Gramophone and BBC Music Magazine

Nightingale String Quartet's Rued Langgaard CD is singled out this month in the world's two leading magazines for classical music, the English Gramophone and BBC Music Magazine.

In Gramophone the CD gets the distinction "Choice" (the editors' top ten among the month's classical releases of the entire world) and BBC Music Magazine gives the CD "BBC 5 Star" for both the artistic and technical quality.

The CD with Rued Langgaard's collected string quartets is the second in the series and was released internationally in February 2014. The third CD is on its way and as Gramophone writes "One can only look forward to the final release in this important and worthwhile series."

Also the Danish reviewers were enthusiastic about the CD when it was released on the Dacapo label in December last year. 'The reviewer of Jyllands Posten praised it as "flawless from start to finish", and both Berlingske, Politiken and Information has the CD among the favourites of the year.

Three of the members are students in the soloist class at the Royal Danish Academy of Music with professor Tim Frederiksen as mentor and chamber music teacher. Nightingale String Quartet has won prizes at numerous Danish and international chamber music competitions, among others P2's Chamber Music Competition and Charles Hennen Concurs in Holland.
