Erlendis Quartet won P2 Chamber Music Competition 2017
The RDAM ensemble Erlendis Quartet won P2's Chamber Music Competition 2017, organized by DR (the Danish Broadcasting Corporation). 12 chosen ensembles competed about the prestigious prizes. The finals took place on 4th November in DR's Concert Hall, and Erlendis Quartet won the First Prize of DKK 100,000. The 2nd Prize was awarded the RDAM ensemble Ventus (flutist Michaela Hansen, and clarinetist Louise Henriksen), and the Spanish saxophone quartet Vela won the 3rd Prize. The Special Prize (best performance of contemporary Danish music) was awarded Aros Guitar Duo, another RDAM ensemble studying in the Advanced Postgraduate Programme.
Erlendis Quartet consists of the guitarists Wojciech Jurkiewicz, Anna Chorazyczewska, Adrian Furmankiewicz and Karol Mruk. They are students of the Advanced Postgraduate Diploma (Soloist) Programme under Professor Tim Frederiksen and Jesper Sivebæk at The Royal Danish Academy of Music.
Erlendis Quartet will play their debut concert on the 22nd November in The Academy Concert Hall.
