Meisl Quartet awarded 1st Prize

RDAM Quartet won 1st Prize in the 2024 Luigi Nono International Chamber Music Competition

RDAM string quartet Meisl Quartet won 1st prize in the 2024 Luigi Nono International Chamber Music Competition, which took place 18-20 October at Teatro Cardinal Massaia in Turin, Italy. The competition was open to musicians of all nationalities aged 14-33.

In the chamber music division, the first prize was awarded to the Meisl Quartet, receiving €2,000 and a concert engagement. The quartet consists of violinists Viola Meisl and Silas Helt Haarder, violist Karla Meisl and cellist Silke Meisl. The quartet was formed in 2022, and three out of four members are current or former students at RDAM with Professor Peter Herresthal and Tim Frederiksen.
