PROFESOR NIKLAS SIVELÖV PERFORMS THE WORLD PREMIERE OF SMALDONE PIANO CONCERT
Professor of Piano Niklas Sivelöv performs the world premiere of a Smaldone piano concert in New York
Composer Edward Smaldone, who is also a professor at The Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College NYC, has dedicated a piano concert to RDAM professor of piano Niklas Sivelöv.
With Niklas Sivelöv as soloist, The Concert ‘Concerto for Piano and Chamber Orchestra (2020)’ will be premiered on 11 June 2020 at The Miller Theatre at Columbia University in New York City by the Orchestra of the League of Composers under the baton of Louis Karchin.
Niklas Sivelöv and professor of woodwinds Max Artved and RDAM students have worked with professor Edward Smaldone on several occasions. For example, RDAM students have premiered ‘The Beauty Within Arms Reach’ for woodwind ensemble at a concert at RDAM in 2017.
