Two former RDAM students receive the composer prize 2024 from Ernst Von Siemens Music Foundation
The Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung Composer Prize 2024 goes to two former RDAM students, Bára Gísladóttir from Iceland and Yiqing Zhu from China, as well as the Italian Daniele Ghisi. The prizes are 35,000 euros each for the winners, and in addition to the cash prize, the award also includes concerts/work productions.
The success of RDAM students naturally brings great professional pride, and it is a joy to see that the values the students acquire through their education continue in their artistic practice and support their careers. "We are proud to see that we are doing it right," says Jeppe Just Christensen (lecturer in composition at RDAM) and continues:
"Here at RDAM, we greatly emphasize the students' freedom to determine what they want. The teaching always starts with the specific student and on their own terms. This results in them finding their own way of writing music, which becomes original and personal."
