Current Resonance
The Aarhus-based composer/performer ensemble, Current Resonance, presents an evening of multimedia music composed by members of the ensemble and fellow Royal Academy of Music Aarhus graduate composers. These pieces have been conceived in a world where algorithmic pedagogy and database recommendations have engendered a slippage between the semantics and materiality of (musical) language. Imitative gestures, simulated gamification, and camouflage are weaponized against orthodox interpretations of the staged performance, giving way to a disconnect between action and expression.
